The video My Web Playroom with Ze Frank showed how one person can reach out and get help from a lot of people. How working together can create something more. The website This Is A Web Page written by Justin Jackson was just one person hoping to make an impact alone. But both did so using technology and both explained that technology is good for spreading what each created. Whether it was to spread songs or to just spread a thought.

There are a lot of virtual tools that exist that I was able to make a connection through. Many different phone games and social media. Mostly Snapchat, Instagram, and Discord. Snapchat and Instagram are easy to use and help me stay connected more with people I know. Discord is different. With Discord, you need to know people and use links to access different ways to talk. Discord does not suggest people or groups you may know. Insta and Snap both suggest people you may know. That and like, Snap and Insta I have an easier time sharing things. That and they’re both practically free. With Discord you need to buy Discord Nitro if you want to: share files of a certain size, have access to certain emojis depending on if you are in a server that has custom emotes, or share screens in high frame rates. There is more you can do but I personally do not think spending the money is worth it. Though with Discord you can talk to a mass of people at all times. I personally only really use it to contact people in school to get feedback or see what is due or what is happening around campus. But I would recommend it for people who like to play MMO’s and group games. Other than just directly talking to people there is not much else you can do on it besides stream games with each other. Though I did join a server for a bit and did end up making a few new friends that I still stay in contact with, but with other social media. There just is not much it does to keep me wanting to go back. I would probably suggest making it more interactive like suggested content you like, as Snap does with the discovery page. Or at least have some way to find people. Because there is no way you can connect to people unless you reach out via a different platform or IRL prior. Then you can make friends or invite people to servers and then those people can invite you to other servers etc. But without that, Discord is impractical.
